AANI THIRUMANJANAM ON 19TH JUNE

One year for human beings is considered just one day for the Devas, according to Hindu mythology. The six Maha Abhishekams performed on different days of a year (one celestial day) are equated to the six 'Kala pujas' carried out normally during a day in most Siva temples in Tamil Nadu.
The Thirumanjanam in the month of Aani (June-July) on the day of the star Uthiram is an occasion for one of these six Maha Abhishekams and equates to the time of the evening puja. A special Abhishekam is also performed early in the morning in some important Siva temples like Chidambaram . Aani Thirumanjanam this year falls on July 19.
